Why IBM ICE (Innovation Centre for Education), People’s University

We are all aware that technology is changing rapidly, and universities & institutions have a real challenge of keeping up to date with all the changes, and managing faculty skills and attrition. IBM teams up with the People’s University to work on a new approach to the curriculum design. The curriculum design has been refreshed ground up for the IBM ICE B.Tech. There is more focus on project based learning and industry interaction. This will ensure that the students’ work is constantly under review, and the inputs from the industry specialist and architects support them in their learning. Adequate training to the faculty and a support structure with industry subject matter experts will mean that the faculty skills remain up to date all the time. The intent is to groom the students to make them ready to meet the challenges of a real world, the Industry would readily embrace their skills and talent and induct them into their project seamlessly.

To prepare the Next Generation of Young Professionals who would Lead the building of a Smarter Planet, by Enabling cutting edge IT Skills directly through their University Curriculum, thus preparing them for technology leadership roles in IBM and in IBM’s Global System Integration and ISV Partners.

IBM together with the leading Universities the world over have on offer a series of B. Tech. CSE/IT & MBA programs, under the IBM Innovation Center for Education program. The program offerings are industry-aligned and the courseware redesigned ground up, with a state-of-the-art delivery mechanism put in place to enable our students learn industry relevant skill sets.

The program offers state-of-the-art course curriculum, courseware, train-the-teacher workshops, provision for online labs, projects for students, webinars, guest speakers, Event engagements; Gurukool, poster competitions, online quiz, discussion forums, industry visits, and IBM Badges/Certificate on successful completion, making the learning more hands-on, productive & fun and infusing deep skills to the professionals of the future.
